The 6 March 1788 arrival on Norfolk Island of Commandant Philip Gidley King and a small group of convicts and free settlers saw the beginnings of the First British Settlement on Norfolk Island.
Centred around an evocative re-enactment of their landing on that day, this week offers the chance to discover some of Norfolk's fascinating but relatively un-known history, during a week designed to provide a snap-shot of convict life. Watch the First Fleeters land on our shores during the re-enactment, followed by a luncheon. Also see the island on an Island Life Tour, experience the iconic Fish Fry and discover the island's history. Don't miss out - this time of year is a stunning time to visit Norfolk Island!

Hibiscus Regal Apartments:Â Included in your holiday package is 7 nights at Hibiscus Regal, twin share. Set in a sub-tropical garden and close to town, these 8 self-contained apartments are value for money.
The Crest Apartments: Upgrade to a 1 Bedroom Apartment from an additional $220 per person, twin share. These self-contained apartments offer amazing valley views from your balcony, and ocean views from your front door.
Governor's Lodge: Upgrade to a private 1 Bedroom Cabin from an additional $520 per person, twin share. Close to town, set amongst subtropical gardens with resort-style facilities including 3 dining venues and a pool.
I can strongly recommend doing the same tour arrangement to anyone with an interest in First Fleeters and others on Norfolk Island during the first and second settlements. There is nothing like seeing the locations in person.
Terms and Conditions
Prices are a guide only, subject to change and availability, and are in Australian Dollars. Prices are correct as of 18 April 2024. Please check all prices, availability, fees, conditions and information with your travel agent before booking.
Deposit:Â A non-refundable deposit is due upon booking: $250 per person if booking prior to 28 May 2024; or $1000 per person after this date. Airfare may be required at time of booking to commit to Qantas booking terms and conditions.
Final Payment: Final payment is due: 24 November 2024. Payment can be made by personal or bank cheques or by direct deposit into our Commonwealth Bank account. If you would prefer to pay by Visa or Mastercard, please add 1.5% to the total cost of your holiday package.
Changes & Amendments:Â Changes can be made up to 48 hours (notification business days only) prior to departure at a change fee of $200 per person plus any applicable upgrade fees, subject to availability.
Cancellation:Â Airfare is subject to availability and non-refundable after issue. Accommodation cancellation penalties apply within 90 days prior to travel. Within 60 days of travel, up to 100% cancellation fees may apply.
We strongly recommend travel insurance to protect you against some unforeseen cancellations.
