The late John Clarke admitted to being a fan\, and comparisons have been made to Tim Minchin\, Tom Lehrer and Noel Coward. \nKirsten London:  A relative latecomer to the music scene\, and partially inspired by her internationally celebrated jazz-pianist uncle Mike Nock\, Kirsten took Andrew’s 1964 Hofner ‘McCartney’ Violin Bass down off the wall in 2010 and never looked back.  Playful standards by artists such as Peggy Lee\, Julie London and Blossom Dearie are a speciality. \nJames Tait-Jamieson:   Returning to New Zealand after studying in in Las Vegas James’s  ‘Sons of Sinatra’ show toured New Zealand off and on\, and played a handful of cruise ship gigs around the South Pacific and Indonesia until the Covid hiatus. He currently teaches music full-time in his home town of Palmerston North. \nAndrew London Trio \nVeterans of several Norfolk Island jazz and country music festivals\, and dozens of similar appearances all over New Zealand and Australia over the last three decades\, The Andrew London Trio enjoy presenting a wide variety of musical styles and eras. \nThe trio will present a variety of themed concerts over five nights to ensure there’s something for everyone during our ‘Rhythm’n’Pines 2026’ Tour of Norfolk island \nAll of the band members have been to Norfolk before and have a real love of the island and are keen to share their knowledge with those travelling with them in 2026. \n  \n\n	\n\n\n\n	\n		\n	\n\n\n	\n						\n		\n\n			\n	\n	\n		\n	Rhythm & Pines 2026 Itinerary\nDay 1 – Wednesday 2 December 2026 – Depart New Zealand – Arrive Norfolk Island/Welcome Dinner (B) \nAn early start this morning as you catch your connecting flight to Sydney.  Once in Sydney you’ll catch your Norfolk Island flight.   Wutawieh?  Welcome to Norfolk! Norfolk in summer is long lazy days where the sun doesn’t set until nearly 7pm and the breathtaking sunsets linger until about 8pm. The perfect time to enjoy outdoor activities like BBQs and swims in the pristine waters of Emily Bay. On arrival be transferred to the Paradise Hotel & Resort (no further rooms currently available)  OR to Governor's Lodge Hotel.    The Paradise Hotel & Resort is a popular 3.5-star resort nestled in 11 acres of beautifully landscaped subtropical gardens. The Garden Rooms are located on both the ground and first floors with many on the ground floor boasting a private terrace to enjoy the hotel gardens and swimming pool. Each room comprises of either a king\, queen or twin beds\, private bathroom\, satellite television\, DVD player\, refrigerator\, IDD phones\, clock radio\, fan\, hair dryer and tea/coffee facilities. \nGovernor's Lodge is located on Queen Elizabeth Avenue (just across the road from the Paradise Hotel)  and is just a short drive or walk from the main township of Burnt Pine. The hotel features 55 individual one-bedroom cabins set within 12 acres of subtropical gardens\, providing a sense of privacy and tranquility.  All cabins are well-appointed and feature a separate lounge and bedroom\, a kitchenette with a bar fridge and microwave\, tea/coffee making facilities\, a private bathroom\, and a furnished balcony.  The resort has a swimming pool and a heated spa\, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. \nTonight the guests staying at the Paradise Hotel will walk across the road to Governor’s Lodge for a welcome buffet dinner at the Boatshed Restaurant. \nDay 2 – Thursday 3 December 2026 Island Life Tour/Island Fish Fry (B\,L\,D)   \nToday you’ll tour the island gaining a true insight into the intricate nature of modern island life. Your guide will share the latest information on the island's ethnic groups\, nationalities and languages spoken\, including the Norfolk Island indigenous language. Hear how and where islanders are born\, educated\, find work and careers\, attend their various churches\, are cared for in advancing years and eventually accorded free burial in a carefully tended community graveyard. Experienced leaders will explain the eight original family groups\, how their cultural traits are fostered\, valued and maintained in today's daily life. Learn about how the island generates its electricity\, gains its supply of gas\, ships in petroleum products\, food and the material needs of life. The making of roads\, the maintenance of medical\, health services and environmental issues are explained. How modern life is experienced in Norfolk Island is what this tour is all about.  The tour includes morning or afternoon tea and concludes with a delicious lunch at the Boatshed Restaurant.  The rest of the day is at leisure so why not check out the shops in Burnt Pine or grab the car keys and start exploring. \nLate this afternoon you’ll be collected from our hotel and transferred to Orn dar Cliff where you’ll partake in a traditional Norfolk Island Fish Fry. This is a highly popular event and you’ll enjoy a feast of local dishes\, including mouth-watering fresh fried fish\, traditional salads\, and homemade coconut bread. You'll also find local specialties like 'Pilhi' (savoury banana slice) and 'Ana' (a special sweet potato mash with local herbs)\, and coconut pie and cream for dessert. Norfolk Island is a duty-free and GST-free shopping haven where you’ll find over 50 stores selling everything from sporting goods and imported shoes to cosmetics\, jewellery and artwork. You won’t find chain stores here. Norfolk Island’s shops are locally owned and operated. \nThis evening the group comes together for dinner at The Garden Restaurant at the Paradise Hotel and dinner will be followed by another great performance from the Andrew London Trio. \nDay 5 – Sunday 6 December 2026 – Boatshed Long Lunch/Rhythm & Pines (B\,L)   \nThe morning is at leisure.  Have you been for a swim?  Emily Bay on Norfolk was announced as the 3rd best beach in Australia for 2025 and the locals will argue with you and tell you it’s the best!   Jump in the car and it will take you about 6 minutes to get there. \nLunch today will be at the Boatshed Restaurant at Governor's Lodge. Then while away a couple of hours with some fabulous lunchtime tunes from the Andrew London Trio. \nDay 6 – Monday 7 December 2026 – Jazz Orn dar Cliff (B\,D) \nToday is at leisure.  Why not walk through some of Norfolk’s beautiful National Park?  The park covers about 14% of the island's total land area and is a significant sanctuary for a large number of endemic and endangered plant and animal species.  Norfolk is also  a fascinating destination for birdwatchers due to its isolation and a high number of species. \nThis evening make your way to the western side of the island Orn dar Cliff to enjoy some platters followed by a fabulous Norfolk barbeque dinner.  After dinner there will be Jazz orn dar Cliff with the Andrew London trio as the sun sets over the horizon. \nDay 7 – Tuesday 8 December 2026 – Farewell Dinner / Rhythm & Pines (B\,D) \nYour last day on Norfolk.  Tonight will be a farewell dinner at the Garden Restaurant at the Paradise Hotel followed by a final wow performance from the Andrew London Trio. \nDay 8 – Wednesday 9 December 2026 – Depart Norfolk – Arrive Sydney/New Zealand \nSadly\, it’s time to say goodbye to Norfolk.  Guests will be picked up late morning for transfer to Norfolk Island Airport for the flight home. \n*Final itinerary is subject to change \n  \n\n	\n\n\n\n	\n		\n	\n\n\n	\n						\n		\n\n			\n	\n	\n		\n		So much to see and do.....\n	\n	\n\n\n\n	\n\n\n			\n	\n	\n		\n	\n				\n			\n	\n				\n				\n				\n					\n		Early morning yoga? The late John Clarke admitted to being a fan\, and comparisons have been made to Tim Minchin\, Tom Lehrer and Noel Coward. \nKirsten London:  A relative latecomer to the music scene\, and partially inspired by her internationally celebrated jazz-pianist uncle Mike Nock\, Kirsten took Andrew’s 1964 Hofner ‘McCartney’ Violin Bass down off the wall in 2010 and never looked back.  Playful standards by artists such as Peggy Lee\, Julie London and Blossom Dearie are a speciality. \nJames Tait-Jamieson:   Returning to New Zealand after studying in in Las Vegas James’s  ‘Sons of Sinatra’ show toured New Zealand off and on\, and played a handful of cruise ship gigs around the South Pacific and Indonesia until the Covid hiatus. The perfect time to enjoy outdoor activities like BBQs and swims in the pristine waters of Emily Bay. The late John Clarke admitted to being a fan\, and comparisons have been made to Tim Minchin\, Tom Lehrer and Noel Coward. \nKirsten London:  A relative latecomer to the music scene\, and partially inspired by her internationally celebrated jazz-pianist uncle Mike Nock\, Kirsten took Andrew’s 1964 Hofner ‘McCartney’ Violin Bass down off the wall in 2010 and never looked back.  Playful standards by artists such as Peggy Lee\, Julie London and Blossom Dearie are a speciality. \nJames Tait-Jamieson:   Returning to New Zealand after studying in in Las Vegas James’s  ‘Sons of Sinatra’ show toured New Zealand off and on\, and played a handful of cruise ship gigs around the South Pacific and Indonesia until the Covid hiatus. He currently teaches music full-time in his home town of Palmerston North. \nAndrew London Trio \nVeterans of several Norfolk Island jazz and country music festivals\, and dozens of similar appearances all over New Zealand and Australia over the last three decades\, The Andrew London Trio enjoy presenting a wide variety of musical styles and eras. \nThe trio will present a variety of themed concerts over five nights to ensure there’s something for everyone during our ‘Rhythm’n’Pines 2026’ Tour of Norfolk island \nAll of the band members have been to Norfolk before and have a real love of the island and are keen to share their knowledge with those travelling with them in 2026. \n  \n\n	\n\n\n\n	\n		\n	\n\n\n	\n						\n		\n\n			\n	\n	\n		\n	Rhythm & Pines 2026 Itinerary\nDay 1 – Wednesday 2 December 2026 – Depart New Zealand – Arrive Norfolk Island/Welcome Dinner (B) \nAn early start this morning as you catch your connecting flight to Sydney.  Once in Sydney you’ll catch your Norfolk Island flight.   Wutawieh?  Welcome to Norfolk! Norfolk in summer is long lazy days where the sun doesn’t set until nearly 7pm and the breathtaking sunsets linger until about 8pm. The perfect time to enjoy outdoor activities like BBQs and swims in the pristine waters of Emily Bay. On arrival be transferred to the Paradise Hotel & Resort (no further rooms currently available)  OR to Governor's Lodge Hotel.    The Paradise Hotel & Resort is a popular 3.5-star resort nestled in 11 acres of beautifully landscaped subtropical gardens. The Garden Rooms are located on both the ground and first floors with many on the ground floor boasting a private terrace to enjoy the hotel gardens and swimming pool. Each room comprises of either a king\, queen or twin beds\, private bathroom\, satellite television\, DVD player\, refrigerator\, IDD phones\, clock radio\, fan\, hair dryer and tea/coffee facilities. \nGovernor's Lodge is located on Queen Elizabeth Avenue (just across the road from the Paradise Hotel)  and is just a short drive or walk from the main township of Burnt Pine. The hotel features 55 individual one-bedroom cabins set within 12 acres of subtropical gardens\, providing a sense of privacy and tranquility.  All cabins are well-appointed and feature a separate lounge and bedroom\, a kitchenette with a bar fridge and microwave\, tea/coffee making facilities\, a private bathroom\, and a furnished balcony.  The resort has a swimming pool and a heated spa\, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. \nTonight the guests staying at the Paradise Hotel will walk across the road to Governor’s Lodge for a welcome buffet dinner at the Boatshed Restaurant. \nDay 2 – Thursday 3 December 2026 Island Life Tour/Island Fish Fry (B\,L\,D)   \nToday you’ll tour the island gaining a true insight into the intricate nature of modern island life. Your guide will share the latest information on the island's ethnic groups\, nationalities and languages spoken\, including the Norfolk Island indigenous language. Hear how and where islanders are born\, educated\, find work and careers\, attend their various churches\, are cared for in advancing years and eventually accorded free burial in a carefully tended community graveyard. Experienced leaders will explain the eight original family groups\, how their cultural traits are fostered\, valued and maintained in today's daily life. Learn about how the island generates its electricity\, gains its supply of gas\, ships in petroleum products\, food and the material needs of life. The making of roads\, the maintenance of medical\, health services and environmental issues are explained. How modern life is experienced in Norfolk Island is what this tour is all about.  The tour includes morning or afternoon tea and concludes with a delicious lunch at the Boatshed Restaurant.  The rest of the day is at leisure so why not check out the shops in Burnt Pine or grab the car keys and start exploring. \nLate this afternoon you’ll be collected from our hotel and transferred to Orn dar Cliff where you’ll partake in a traditional Norfolk Island Fish Fry. Norfolk Island is a duty-free and GST-free shopping haven where you’ll find over 50 stores selling everything from sporting goods and imported shoes to cosmetics\, jewellery and artwork. You won’t find chain stores here. Norfolk Island’s shops are locally owned and operated. \nThis evening the group comes together for dinner at The Garden Restaurant at the Paradise Hotel and dinner will be followed by another great performance from the Andrew London Trio. \nDay 5 – Sunday 6 December 2026 – Boatshed Long Lunch/Rhythm & Pines (B\,L)   \nThe morning is at leisure.  Have you been for a swim?  Emily Bay on Norfolk was announced as the 3rd best beach in Australia for 2025 and the locals will argue with you and tell you it’s the best!   Jump in the car and it will take you about 6 minutes to get there. \nLunch today will be at the Boatshed Restaurant at Governor's Lodge.
