By necessity travelling to Norfolk Island requires that you fly – it is an Island after all! What many travellers may not also know is that it’s highly recommended to hire a car as with only one taxi, no public transport and a very hilly terrain, if you do want to fully explore the island you will need your own car. The exceptions to this are if you are travelling on a fully escorted tour where your transport is organised by bus, or if you are happy to stay close to the town-centre and tours you choose offer a pick-up service.
Norfolk Island is also a place that you need to have your accommodation organised prior to arrival.
