Shelley Husband

After an exhilarating tropical retreat in Vanuatu this year, Shelley has decided to return back to Norfolk Island in 2027!

Enjoy a week on Norfolk Island to experience the local hospitality, food, history and of course crochet workshops with Shelley.  Please note that the workshops are not suitable for beginners.  Participants should know how to read a pattern and be familiar with the most common stitches and techniques!  Non-crocheters are of course welcome to join their friends.

Glade (41)

Shelley, a prominent Australian crochet designer, author, and educator is  renowned for her specialisation in the versatile granny square and her dedication to making crochet accessible and enjoyable for all skill levels. While she first learned to crochet as a child, it wasn't until nearly 40 years later that she rediscovered her passion, which quickly evolved from making a single granny square into a full-time design career.

Shelley is widely recognised as the "Granny Square Queen" and has authored numerous books, with titles such as Granny Square Flair, Siren's Atlas, and the popular educational resource, Granny Square Academy. Her commitment to teaching is at the heart of what she does and she aims to extend crocheters' skills, gently challenging them to create projects they once thought were beyond their ability. Her work continues to inspire thousands of creatives worldwide.

When Shelley’s not running retreats and workshops, she’s enjoying the land of the Dja Dja Wurrung and the Taungurung Peoples of the Kulin Nation.
