1 Pacific Robin @ Norfolk Is. Web

The Norfolk Island Group is a globally important biodiversity hotspot and has been designated as an ‘Important Bird Area’ by Birdlife International. The group is a breeding site for several 100,000 seabirds including the masked booby, grey ternlet, white tern, sooty tern, & wedge-tailed shearwater. Phillip Island supports one of the largest breeding populations of red-tailed tropic birds in Australia.

Norfolk itself is home to the endemic & endangered Norfolk Island Green Parakeet, & other endemic birds such as the Norfolk Island golden whistler & Norfolk Island scarlet robin.

The various birdwatching sessions throughout Bird Week will be scheduled (and repeated if necessary) to ensure there is no more than 15 birdwatchers at any one time per Guide.

Sessions through the week include 'Discover the world of Norfolk Island's unique and endemic bird fauna' with Margaret Christian; Norfolk birds by night; a presentation on endangered Norfolk Island Green Parrot; and guided birding tours of rainforest and seabird breeding colonies.

We want you to know how much we enjoyed Bird Week 2019. The object of the week was to see birds and our guides, Margaret and Ron went out of their way to find them. That morning tea at Margaret's home with the Masked Boobies was a highlight. The day that Ron led us on the Palm Glen walk the Green Parrots were shy so he then took us to the Red Road to show us a good spot and when we came back later we had great views of the Parrots. This was our third visit to Norfolk Island and our second Bird Week (2016) but there is always something new to see and we have met many lovely people.
Eric and Margaret Wheeler,

IMPORTANT ADVICE FOR NORFOLK ISLAND

NB: Travel restrictions and entry requirements may change at short notice. Please check back regularly for updated information.

It is important that you keep up to date with the latest government requirements available at:  http://www.norfolkisland.gov.nf/covid-19-advice-norfolk-island

It is strongly recommended that you still undertake a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) for COVID-19 within 48 hours of departing and if this is positive do not travel to the Island. Norfolk Island has very limited health facilities compared with the mainland and particularly if you are elderly, unvaccinated or with a comorbidity and become infected with COVID-10 you will strain these facilities. There remains a mandatory requirement to report a positive result to wither PCR or RAT for COVID-19 to the Norfolk Island Health and Residential aged Care Service 9NIHRACS) whilst on the Island.

This will result in self-isolation until your symptom free, at your own cost.

Payment Options

Prices shown are in Australian dollars and are payable by personal or bank cheques or by direct deposit into our Commonwealth Bank account (please see bank details below). If you would prefer to pay by Visa or Mastercard, please add 1.5% to the total cost of your holiday package
