The Paradise Hotel & Resort is a popular 3.5-star resort nestled in 11 acres of beautifully landscaped subtropical gardens. The Garden Rooms are located on both the ground and first floors with many on the ground floor boasting a private terrace to enjoy the hotel gardens and swimming pool. Each room comprises of either a king, queen or twin beds, private bathroom, satellite television, DVD player, refrigerator, IDD phones, clock radio, fan, hair dryer and tea/coffee facilities.
With Norfolk’s mild climate, guests can enjoy both indoor and outdoor dining at the hotel in the on-site restaurant “The Garden Restaurant & Bar”.

Join Internationally recognised quilters Ange (GnomeAngel - gnomeangel.com) and Kristy (Quiet Play Designs - quietplaydesigns.com) and spend a week learning new techniques, making new friends and seeing a stunning part of the world. Together we'll work on an exclusive project - with a special guest appearance by a surprise instructor - as well as help you conquer your WIPs and UFOs that you bring with you! We’ll share all our patchwork secrets from how to fussy cut to making amazing blocks with foundation paper piecing.
What you need to bring:
- Sewing supplies - all the things you need to be able to do what you want to do.
- Sewing machine (machines will be available for international students for an additional fee if needed. Please contact either Ange or Kristy directly via their websites if you think you may want to do this). Please be aware that QANTAS provides a 7kg limit for carry-on baggage.
- Sewing projects to start, work on or finish
A detailed packing list will be provided to help you ensure you bring everything you could need with you.
Our goal is to provide you with uninterrupted time to just have fun with fabric. The dishes will be done for you, your bed will be made for you and you’ll be looked after so all you have to do is sew and have a great time!

Thursday 09 July 2026 –Brisbane Guests: Depart Brisbane – Arrive Norfolk Island/ Dinner Paradise Hotel (D)
This morning make your way to Brisbane International Airport for your flight to Norfolk. Wutawieh? Welcome to Norfolk! On arrival be transferred to the Paradise Hotel & Resort. The Paradise Hotel & Resort is a popular 3.5-star resort nestled in 11 acres of beautifully landscaped subtropical gardens. The Garden Rooms are located on both the ground and first floors with many on the ground floor boasting a private terrace to enjoy the hotel gardens and swimming pool. Each room comprises of either a king, queen or twin beds, private bathroom, satellite television, DVD player, refrigerator, IDD phones, clock radio, fan, hair dryer and tea/coffee facilities.

Friday 10 July 2026 – Sydney Guests: Depart Sydney – Arrive Norfolk Island/Dinner Governor’s Lodge (D)

Sydney guests will make their way to Sydney International Airport this morning for the short flight to Norfolk. Wutawieh? Welcome to Norfolk! On arrival be transferred to the Paradise Hotel & Resort for check-in and the rest of the afternoon is at leisure.
Brisbane guests - breakfast is served daily at your hotel from 7:30-9:30am. Today is a full day at leisure. There is so much to do and see on Norfolk Island. When you make your reservation discuss with the consultant what your interests are and they will be able to assist in advising what tours or additional activities may be of interest to you during the week. Some of the tours that operate on a Friday include History in the Making, the Colleen McCullough home tour, Natural Wonders, Wars of Change, Island Culture Tour, Greenfingers and Curious Castaways. Why not explore the shops in the Burnt Pine area? A 10-minute walk from your hotel you’ll find over 50 stores selling everything from sporting goods and imported shoes to cosmetics, jewellery and artwork. You won’t find chain stores here. Norfolk Island’s shops are locally owned and operated.
This evening all guests will take a short stroll across the road to Governor’s Lodge Hotel where tonight will be a welcome buffet for the whole group.
Saturday 11 July 2026 –All Guests: Island Life Tour/Dinner Bounty Bar and Grill (B,L,D)
This morning after breakfast at the hotel you’ll be taken on the Island Life Tour to see the island and learn what life is like living in a small island community. The tour will conclude with lunch at the Boatshed Restaurant. Today you’ll tour the island gaining a true insight into the intricate nature of modern island life. Your guide will share the latest information on the island's ethnic groups, nationalities and languages spoken, including the Norfolk Island indigenous language. Hear how and where islanders are born, educated, find work and careers, attend their various churches, are cared for in advancing years and eventually accorded free burial in a carefully tended community graveyard. Experienced leaders will explain the eight original family groups, how their cultural traits are fostered, valued and maintained in today's daily life. Learn about how the island generates its electricity, gains its supply of gas, ships in petroleum products, food and the material needs of life. The making of roads, the maintenance of medical, health services and environmental issues are explained. How modern life is experienced in Norfolk Island is what this tour is all about. The tour includes morning or afternoon tea and concludes with a delicious lunch at the Boatshed Restaurant. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure today.
This afternoon after lunch the sewing retreat will be open and you are welcome to join or spend your time at leisure.
This evening everyone will be collected and transferred to Bounty Bar and Grill for a delicious 2-course dinner. The Bounty Bar and Grill, housed in an original island home dating back to the early 1900s, offers a fantastic pub-style menu paired with a warm and inviting ambiance.
Returning to your hotel, the sewing room is open for use until 11pm.
Sunday 12 July 2026 - Sewers: Sewing Retreat/Dinner at Paradise Hotel (B,L,D)
Non- Sewers: Dinner at Paradise Hotel (B,D)
Breakfast is served daily at your hotel from 7:30-9:30am. Today the sewing retreat will be open all day. Morning and afternoon tea will be available, and a light lunch will be served during your break today. Sewers are welcome to come and go as they please during the week and also enjoy any tours or activities whilst on island.
Are you brave enough for a winter swim? Emily Bay on Norfolk was announced as the 3rd best beach in Australia for 2025 and the locals will argue with you and tell you it’s the best! If you’ve hired a car for the week it will take you about 6 minutes to get there.
This evening dinner for everyone is a 2-course dinner at The Garden Restaurant at your hotel and the sewing retreat will be open for use after dinner until 11pm.
Monday 13 July 2026 – Sewers: Sewing Retreat/Progressive Dinner (B,L,D)

Breakfast is served daily at your hotel from 7:30-9:30am. Today the sewing retreat will be open all day. Morning and afternoon tea will be available, and a light lunch will be served for the during your break today.
Why not walk through some of Norfolk’s beautiful National Park? The park covers about 14% of the island's total land area and is a significant sanctuary for a large number of endemic and endangered plant and animal species. Norfolk is also a fascinating destination for birdwatchers due to its isolation and a high number of species.
This evening everyone be collected for a 3 course Progressive Dinner. Over the course of the evening, you'll enjoy a delicious 3-course meal, with each course served at a different Norfolk Island family home. Each home has been carefully selected to showcase the island's rich culture and history, and each dinner host has a sensational story to tell. Experience the true flavours of Norfolk Island by indulging in the same mouth-watering dishes that locals enjoy in their homes every day. This is your chance to savour authentic home-cooked meals and learn about the island's rich culinary traditions from your hosts.

Tuesday 14 July 2026 – Sewers: Sewing Retreat/Island Fish Fry (B,L,D)

Breakfast is served daily at your hotel from 7:30-9:30am. Today the sewing retreat will be open all day. Morning and afternoon tea will be available, and a light lunch will be served during your break today.
Late this afternoon everyone will be collected from our hotel and transferred to Orn dar Cliff where you’ll partake in a traditional Norfolk Island Fish Fry. This is a highly popular event, and you’ll enjoy a feast of local dishes, including mouth-watering fresh fried fish, traditional salads, and homemade coconut bread. You'll also find local specialties like 'Pilhi' (savoury banana slice) and 'Ana' (a special sweet potato mash with local herbs), and coconut pie and cream for dessert. Coffee and tea are included, and you can purchase beer and wine or BYO if you prefer. Enjoy live music from local performers and captivating performances by the Baunti Byuutis dancing group, showcasing traditional Tahitian movements
Returning to your hotel, the sewing room is open for use until 11pm.
Wednesday 15 July 2026 – Sewers: Sewing Retreat/Presentation Dinner Governor’s Lodge (B,L,D)

Breakfast is served daily at your hotel from 7:30-9:30am. Today the sewing retreat will be open all day. Morning and afternoon tea will be available, and a light lunch will be served during your break today
This evening everyone will take a short stroll across the road to Governor’s Lodge Hotel where tonight there will be a 2-course alternate drop presentation dinner.
Returning to your hotel, the sewing room is open for use until 11pm.
Thursday 16 July 2026 – Brisbane Guests: Depart Norfolk – Arrive Brisbane (B)
Sydney Guests: At Leisure/Dinner Paradise Hotel (B,D)
Breakfast is served daily at your hotel from 7:30-9:30am. Sadly, it’s time to say goodbye to the Brisbane guests. These guests will need to check out of their rooms by 10am and will be transferred to Norfolk Airport in time for their flight back to Brisbane.
Sydney guests have a full day at leisure today. Some tours that operate on a Thursday include History in the Making, Over the Cattlestops, the Colleen McCullough home tour, Wars of Change and the Island Culture Tour. For full details see our website.
Sydney guests will have a final family style dinner at the hotel tonight.
Friday 17 July 2026 – Sydney Guests: Depart Norfolk – Arrive Sydney (B)
Farewell to Norfolk today. Guests will need to check out of their rooms by 10am and will be collected late morning and transferred to Norfolk Airport in time for their flight back to Sydney.

Deposit: A non-refundable deposit is due upon booking: AUD$250 per person. Airfare may be required at time of booking to commit to Qantas booking terms and conditions.
Final Payment: Final payment is due: 7 April 2026. Payment can be made by personal or bank cheques or by direct deposit into our Commonwealth Bank account. If you would prefer to pay by Visa or Mastercard, please add 1.5% to the total cost of your holiday package.
Changes & Amendments: Changes can be made up to 48 hours (notification business days only) prior to departure at a change fee of AUD$200 per person plus any applicable upgrade fees, subject to availability.
Cancellation: Airfare is subject to availability and non-refundable after issue. Accommodation cancellation penalties apply within 90 days prior to travel. Within 60 days of travel, up to 100% cancellation fees may apply.
